Fold
in half and stitch along the long side starting at the open end. It is best to use the chain edge for this
part. I used a single crochet to stitch
together but a whip stitch or slip stitch would work as well. This is the hood.
Turn the hood inside out so the right side is
facing.
Cowl
Pattern:
Join
yarn at the bottom corner at the open edge.
Row
1:
HDC
evenly along the bottom of the hood, approximately 40 stitches. Chain 1, turn.
Row
2 - 8:
HDC
in each stitch across (40 HDC). Chain 1, turn.
Row
9:
HDC
in each stitch across. At the corner,
HDC 2 more times and continue around the front of the hood in what was row 15
of the hood pattern. At the opposite
edge of the cowl, evenly space two button loops (chain stitches depending upon
the size of your button) along the edge of the 9 rows. Fasten Off.
Weave
in ends. Attach buttons to line up with
the loops.
